Waco, Here We Come

Two days ago Spencer received a job offer in Waco with an ear, nose, and throat clinic. (Waco ENT) Yesterday, we started the mortgage process and picked a realtor. Tomorrow we go down and start looking at homes. Needless to say- it's been a crazy couple of days!
The company Spencer will be working for sounds really good. They really wanted him so they created this job for him. They gave him an excellent offer! Most importantly, we feel good about it. He is very excited about this company and hopes to help them expand their practice.
How do I feel??? I'm feeling all sorts of things. Excitement about buying a home. Nervous about all that a home entails. Dread about the upcoming trips to Waco and towing TWO darling ENERGETIC children through dozens of other peoples houses. Happy to be moving to a smaller place. Apprehensive about driving two hours each way for orthopedic and opthamalogy appointments. Sad that this will once again take us further away from our extended family. Peaceful knowing that Lily will be able to continue care at the Scottish-Rite Hospital. Stressed about everything that has to happen to make this all possible while also continuing all of our current obligations. Once again, and most importantly, knowing that this is the right move for our family.

The next few weeks will be really busy so I won't be posting much. Hopefully, the next post will be a picture of the house we want to buy. :)

Uncle Nate's Visit

Shree's brother (Uncle Nate) came to visit us for his spring break. We had a lot of fun! The kids absolutely LOVED him. For the first few hours Lily wasn't too sure about who this was in our house but she quickly grew to love him. Ollie loved to have someone to rough and tumble with him. Uncle Nate was always willing to play swords and race through the house on the stick horses. We went to the botanical gardens (which were beautiful) and released the butterflies. We went to chuck e'cheese and had fun playing the games and winning some prizes. We did sand art. We went to the zoo. Uncle Nate was happy to carry Lily on his back so she got to be high enough to see all the animals. We also had an easter egg hunt. Uncle Nate also babysat so Spencer and I could go out to dinner and the temple. All in all it was a busy fun filled week. We enjoyed getting to spend some time with Nate. We saw him for two weeks right after his mission but everyone was also wanting to see him. It was nice to have him all to ourselves. He has grown up to be a great man.
We love you, Uncle Nate. You are welcome at our house anytime. :)

Lily's Surgery

Hi Everyone,
Lily's surgery went really well. The doctor said that her eye muscles moved easily and he felt good about things. She now has a very bloodshot eye and her eyelids are swollen. She's been more irritable than normal so I think her eye is bothering her. She also hates the eye drops that we have to put in three times a day. I have to sit on her and hold her head between my knees and she kicks and screams and squeezes her eye shut as hard as she can. Fortunately for her, she has a very stubborn mother who persists until the job is done. She is much too young to realize that without these drops her eye won't heal as fast and she could get an infection. However, she is old enough to start screaming when she sees me come with the eye drops. Smart kid. :)

Lily's Next Surgery

Hey Family and Friends,
I just wanted to let ya'll know that Lily is going to be having eye surgery on April 8th. She has a problem called strabismus which basically means her eye muscles are not working correctly. So the doctor is going to make some adjustments to the eye muscles and this will hopefully help her eyes to work together better and help with double vision. I just wanted to ask for prayers for Lily and her doctor. If all goes well she will only need the one surgery for this particular problem. If not, she will need a second surgery. This will be her sixth surgery and we are really hoping that they can fix it with just this first surgery. It will just be a day surgery so she will not be in the hospital over night. I'll let you know how it goes later in the week.
Thanks!
