These are the last summer pictures! Up next will be the back to school pictures and school only started 5 weeks ago. :)
She has her Grandpa's to thank for the beautiful blue eyes!

Cornstarch + water = fun slime for kids  (an outside activity)

"Mom, please let me in!!"

One day we popped popcorn with the lid off.  Look at Lily, she is so excited about it!

One day Lily cleaned up so nicely without me having to tell her a million times and she didn't complain AT ALL!  I thought that warranted the "super cleaner" award which she loved!  She showed it to Papa as soon as he got home.  She now has it hanging up in her room.

Summer???

Okay, I know I said that summer pictures would be over and that next would be the back to school pictures... but... I found more pictures! :) Yea for having lots of pictures documenting these three growing kids. They seem to be growing up before my very eyes! Here's more of the happenings at the Stirland household.
Watch out if you come to visit.  We have wild lions and monkeys at our house!
The not twins.  They are getting close to the same size and if they are sitting down it's harder to tell they are different sizes.  The other day they were both sitting down in the stroller.  I had a lady ask me if they were twins.  I said, "No, one is 4 and the other is 1."  She actually started to argue with me about it because they were the same size.  I finally just told her that the older one was a dwarf and was small for her age.  That ended the conversation.  :)

Ollie had the wonderful opportunity to fly to Utah all by himself!  He got to stay with Grandma and Grandpa and go on a little trip with them and his cousins, aunts, and uncles.  He had so much fun!  He was a little nervous about flying at first but we just talked everything over (a lot).  When the day came he was nothing but excited!  He had so much fun in Utah and still talks about it all the time!
Early one Saturday morning we went to the park before it got hot.  On the way we got free donuts (thanks library reading program).  What kid doesn't love donuts and the park???

Lily and Papa playing.

All three kiddos on the merry-go-round.

Ollie really wanted me to take a picture of him in this tree...  here you go buddy!
One day Claire was eating yogurt at the table.  It fell off the table onto the floor so Claire just climbed on down and finished it on the floor..

Every night we read Harry Potter for about 10 minutes.  Ollie is the one most interested in it.  The girls usually run around and play but this day they all wanted to sit on the couch with us.
Lily during swimming lessons.  She had to wear an ear headband because on the second day of class she got an outer ear infection.  She was much braver for swim lessons this time around and she really enjoyed it.

After swimming lessons we would go to the outdoor pool to let the kids play more.  They have a slide and our "no fear" child loved it!

This year as part of Ollie's class he got to start learning how to play water polo.  He thought it was a lot of fun!

Just so you know, I got a new camera for my birthday (hooray!!!) and I have yet to download the software onto my computer and figure out how that part all works. I have more pictures on it (including back to school) so... more pictures soon. :)

More Summer Fun

Now that summer is over, I guess I should finish posting some of the fun things that we did. Then I can post back-to-school pics since school started a few weeks before. :)
Lily doing a tissue paper art project

Having a tea party outside.  Towards the end of summer I realized that lunch and afternoon snack were much easier to clean up if I let the kids eat outside.  Plus, they loved all the 'picnics'.  When they were done I just hosed everything down.  Super easy!!

Claire learned to climb both into and out of her highchair...  It didn't seem very stable so we've moved her to the regular table now.

Don't you just want to squeeze this little kid???  Especially with the peanut butter face and the pulled out pigtails...

Ollie having a water fight with some friends.

Action shot of Ollie at the splash park

The girls at the splash park

Popsicles with friends after swimming

One day to make cleaning up more exciting I hid a bunch of pennies all over the house...

Ollie had tons of fun cleaning up and finding the pennies.  The cheerful cleaning up was totally worth the dollar or so I spent!
Claire wearing Lily's goggles.  Side note- She got this bright orange shirt from the library reading program.  She loves it and wants to wear it all the time!  All the kids got one and sometimes they would plan to all wear them on the same day.  :)

Play-Doh started off with just Claire on the table...

And ended with all the kids on the table.  Play-Doh is super messy but will occupy them for a long time!

This cute girl has some serious bedhead in the morning!
Our Sticky Forest- I tape contact paper to the floor and the kids love to walk and dance on it.  It's a great activity for toddlers because at first they don't know how to walk on it and they fall over every time they try to walk.

Dinner outside...  we would swim almost every evening and then have dinner outside with Papa grilling us something.  We sure got a lot of fun out of the pool and the grill.  I'm usually in the water swimming so we don't have many pictures of us doing the thing that we did most!

Snack outside on the doghouse...  like I said, easy cleanup!
Zoo trip...  had to be started as soon as they opened because it gets HOT!

Our no fear child- loves water and doesn't mind it in her face.
So that is our summer in several posts. We had fun and kept busy!
